The project is part of the activities carried out in implementation of “Biological monitoring” part of the Environmental Monitoring Plan of DPM Krumovgrad EAD. The monitoring project was related to the forthcoming realization of a project for extraction and processing of gold-containing ores from Ada tepe area of the Han Krum deposit with investor DPM Krumovgrad EAD. The project covered the following activities:
- Phytocenotic assessment
- Assessment of the health status of forest communities (including trough dendrochronology)
- Evaluation of the accumulation of heavy metals and metalloids in indicator grass and tree species
The results from the implemented activities allowed the establishment of the impact level of the future mine on the vegetation.
