An Integrated Plan for Urban Regeneration and Development (IPURD) of Nikopol Town has been developed within the project.
IPURD is a plan for economic and social development or urban regeneration – for a city or a part of it, developed for the implementation of the Regions in growth Operational Programme, as well as other operational programs that finance projects in cities. The primary role of each IPURD is to set achievable priorities within a 7-year period with a portfolio of projects to seek funding to improve the social, economic and environmental conditions of the region as a whole, which in turn reducing inter-regional disparities, both at national and European level.
The planning period of the Nikopol IPURD is 2014 – 2020. The stages of the implementation of the plan coincide with the deadlines for the implementation of the project proposals identified in the IPURD.
The identified project proposals in the Nikopol IPURD mainly include projects for renovation, rehabilitation and repair of existing infrastructure and buildings in poor condition. The purpose of IPURD is to define the indicative scope of future projects and to convert them into investment projects after approved financing under the respective operational programs.
