Determining the ecological capacity of the complex and substantial dams from App. 1 of the Law of Waters for implementation of freshwater fish farming

Within the frameworks of the project, implementation of the following actions is predicted:

  • Elaborating a program for monitoring and determining the ecological capacity for implementation of fish farming in cages in previously chosen dams under the territory of the four regions of pool management in Bulgaria;
  • Determining the number of points for monitoring, frequency and physicochemical monitoring in dams;
  • Collection and analysis of available information for the suggested for assessment bodies of water (dams) in relation to validating the methods for the assessment of the ecological capacity of dams for implementing fish farming in cages;
  • Implementation of the program for determining the ecological capacity of the investigated dams for fish farming in cages and validating the methods, developed by the project FISHFARMING;
  • Determining the ecological capacity of dams (CMBT) for the implementation of fish farming in cages and validating the methods, elaborated by project FISHFARMING and applied to Kardzhali Dam

In the program for monitoring are included the following dams:

  • Danube Region Basin Directorate – Al. Stamboliyski Dam (type L11); Ogosta Dam (type L14);
  • Black Sea Region Basin Directorate – Aheloy Dam (type L16);
  • East Aegean Region Basin Directorate – Studen Kladenets Dam, Ivaylovgrad, Koprinka, Zhrebchevo (type L11);
  • West Aegean Region Basin Directorate – Dospat Dam (type L11).
