The project aims at elaboration of strategic guidelines for conservation, maintenance and rehabilitation of the favourable status of natural habitats in 11 model territories of the treeless zone of Central Balkan National Park.
The impact of grazing on the natural habitats of the treeless zone is assessed through assessment of indicator grass communities and insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A monitoring methodology has been elaborated to define monitoring methods for indicator species and evaluation of the results. In the summer of 2014, the first field studies were carried out. This resulted in the first assessment of grazing impact on natural habitats in the 11 model territories.
The project activities have been implemented within the implementation of public procurement “Selection of Natura Consultant” under DIR5113325-12-109 “Central Balkan – a park for everyone” Project.
